What are your return methods?
These are the available return methods:
Exchanges (only Canada & USA):
- All eligible items can be exchanged through our portal only once. After an item is exchanged, it can only be returned for store credit or a refund to the original payment method - it cannot be exchanged again.
- We only offer size exchanges for items of the same color and style as originally purchased. If you'd like to receive a different item, you will need to place a new order for the desired style or color.
- Exchanges are free of charge.
Store Credit (only Canada & USA):
- Store credits are final sale, which means they cannot be converted back into the original payment method once issued.
- Store credits are sent via email in the form of a code that you can enter at checkout.
- All store credit is issued in USD. If you place an order in another currency and return it for store credit, your return will be converted to USD based on the conversion rate at the time of order processing.
- Returns for store credit are free of charge.
Original Payment Method (Refund):
- A return label is provided for a $9 USD flat rate shipping fee (Canada and USA only), which is deducted from the total refund. If you prefer to use your own postage, please contact us here.
- Orders paid with a gift card will be refunded back to the same gift card.
- A $9 USD fee will be charged for "return to sender" package refund requests and for unclaimed packages.
- Returns valued over $300 may be subject to a 10% handling/restocking fee.
What items can be returned / exchanged?
All items except for final sale or non-returnable can be returned or exchanged.
Please make sure to complete a return/exchange request in our portal before sending a package back. American Tall is not liable for exchanges or returns sent without approval.
What items are final sale?
Products may state "final sale" or "no returns" on our website and/or in our advertising. Items marked as such, including but not limited to socks, boxers, swimwear with liners, and gift cards, cannot be returned or exchanged. However, if you have received a wrong, damaged or defective final sale item, then reach out to our customer experience team for assistance.
- If an item is marked as final sale, this information will be displayed in red under the "Add to Cart" button on the product page.
- We don't allow returns for final sale items; however, we have a resale option through a partnership with Poshmark, allowing you to give your items a second life. You can learn more here.
- Gift cards and items marked as final sale for hygienic reasons will have this information listed in the product description tab on the page.
What carrier do you use for return labels?

- We work with multiple return carriers; the return labels generated will depend on your postal/zip code. USPS, DHL, and Canada Post are our most used carrier companies for returns. Please note, we are unable to create custom labels for preferred carriers.

- American Tall is not responsible for packages dropped at the wrong carrier, so please verify the carrier on your return label before returning the package.
- It’s typically not advised to use your own label, but if you choose to use your own label, we ask you to contact us so we can provide you with the correct address and instructions.
What if I received damaged, defective or incorrect items?
Are shipping charges refundable?
Shipping charges are non-refundable.
Can I return a gift card?
Gift cards & store credits are final sale and cannot be returned for refund.
What is your international return policy?
For our customers outside the USA and Canada, we only offer refunds at the moment. Exchanges and Store Credit options are not currently available. Please note, the shipping fee varies depending on your location and can be viewed on the return portal.
What is your holiday return policy?
Any gift orders placed from November 1st through Dec 31st can be returned to American Tall until January 15th of the following year (or 30 days from purchase, whichever is longer).
What currency is store credit issued in?
Store credit is issued in USD. If you place an order in another currency and return it for store credit, your return will be converted to USD based on the conversion rate at the time of order processing.
Please note that exchanges and store credit are processed within 2 business days after receiving the package.

What is Shop Pay Installments?
Shop Pay offers you the flexibility to pay everything upfront or to pay in scheduled installments. This enables you to split your payments into four equal biweekly installments with 0% APR, or into monthly installments without any hidden or late fees.

Which payment methods are accepted by Shop Pay Installments?
For orders without interest, both debit and credit cards are accepted.
For orders with interest, payment can only be made using a debit card.
Who is eligible to use Shop Pay Installments?
Shop Pay Installments is only available to customers with a United States billing address and phone number.
What happens if I miss a payment?
While there are no late fees for missed scheduled payments, it's important to note that partial or late payments may impact your credit score or future eligibility for using Shop Pay. For questions regarding a missed payment, contact Affirm support.
How are refunds processed on Shop Pay orders?
When your refund is processed, there are several factors that may delay or affect your return:
- If your refund is less than your total purchase balance, then it might not lower your next payment. Instead, you can expect fewer payments, a smaller final payment, or both.
- If your refund is more than your purchase balance, then the difference is returned to your original payment method.
- For orders made with monthly payments, the paid interest isn't refunded. Interest is the cost of borrowing, and isn't refundable.
Regardless of the situation, your balance will be adjusted with the refunded amount, which typically takes about 3-10 business days to process.
North American Return Policy Information

Items returned without tags and/or packaging will be subject to a $3.95 re-packaging fee and in some cases may only be eligible for store credit return (So keep the tags on until you know you're keeping it!). Original packing slip or invoice must be included in return package.
Refunds for merchandise returned within the eligible time period will be credited in the same form as the original payment method
Returns and exchanges are available on most men's tall clothing purchases. Selected promotions may state "final sale", or "no returns" on our website and/or in our advertising. These items cannot be returned or exchanged (This includes socks, boxers, and swimwear with liners)
